Use the download button at the bottom of this page. Save the file somewhere you can find it (Downloads folder is fine).
Read this before you download
This is an unpacked Chrome extension. You install it once in Developer mode, then use it on any computer by repeating the same steps with the same ZIP file.
Unzip the folder
Extract the ZIP so you have a folder containing manifest.json,
content.js, popup/, and icons/. Do not
delete files inside the folder.
Load in Chrome (Developer mode)
- Open
chrome://extensions/ - Enable Developer mode (top-right toggle)
- Click Load unpacked
- Select the unzipped extension folder
Works the same in Edge (edge://extensions) and Brave.
Open WhatsApp Web
Go to web.whatsapp.com, scan the QR code, and wait until your chat list has fully loaded. Scroll the chat list once if needed.
Export contacts
- Click the extension icon in your browser toolbar
- Choose the Groups or Chats tab
- Search and select what you want, or use Export all chats
- Click Download CSV
What you get in the CSV

Important notes
- Private & local — Data is read from WhatsApp Web in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to Pewang or any server.
- Phone numbers — Some contacts may show as
@lidinstead of a number. That is a WhatsApp privacy limit, not a bug in the extension. - Updates — Return to this page, download the latest ZIP, remove the old extension in
chrome://extensions/, and load the new folder. - Other machines — Download the ZIP from this page on each computer, or keep a copy on USB / cloud storage and follow the same install steps.
